Hi--stumbled across your blog in a google search for info on the CA-base Everlasting Adoptions. Glad to hear they were honest with y'all. :) And most of all, wanted to say CONGRATS!! We love adoption, too-- we adopted our little man Caleb in Jan of this year as well, and now we feel another little one is headed our way, so we are keeping our eyes and hearts open. So exciting! I hope all is well!!

Hi Guys, just saw your latest info on Twitter and was wondering how things were going with you. I can tell you that "usually" there is a contract between the adoptive parents and the birth mom and birth dad if he is involved as to what the contact will be, how much and how often, photos? emails? personal visits...
You should read my article in Root & Sprout's web site's December issue @
http://www.rootandsprout.com/20543/67901.html (scroll down the page halfway) to see my Q & A with a Birth Mom. Also, there is a great new book out, geared towards birth moms and what they go through called "So I Was Thinking About Adoption" by a woman named Mardie Cauldwell (NO Relation). I tell my adopting parents it is a MUST read.
The bottom line is, the post adoption contact is a mutual responsibility and with good communication it can be revised as need be as the birth mom's life changes (she grows up, matures, gets involved in a new relationship or other such things) The key is flexibility and willingness to talk about your feelings.
Hope this helps.
Have you had any nibbles? Any updates? News?
Warmest regards,
Meg Coldwells

What I had wanted to share with you is the web site of an agency in No CA that is run/owned by an awesome woman, Mardie Cauldwel (no relation to me, different spelling, etc.)
Anyway, on their site they publish stats and info on their Birth Moms and what they are looking for ~ I know your budget is limited but it is worth a look and Mardie has also written a book called "Adopting Online" (worth a read) and has another one coming out soon called "So I Was Thinking About Adoption" for birth moms (and adoptive moms looking for insight into birth moms) I thought you would like to check this out, ya never know...
http://www.lifetimeadoption.com/for_adoptive_families/children.html
That is the page address for Birthparents Seeking Adoptive Families.
Lemme know what you think.
Here's to your ultimate success!
Best,
Meg

Hi guys,
Great blog, and great way to introduce yourselves to potential birth moms. One small suggestion, you might consider changing out the photos on the top to photos of you and your dogs, or you and your parents, or just you. This is your first introduction to a birth mom and the impression it gives is that you already have two kids.
Most birth moms may not read down if they are looking for a couple that do not have any children currently. That is important as you say at the end you would consider siblings/multiples.
Best of luck,
Meg
